Pricing and Cost Information

How pricing works for aerial, thermal, inspection, and monitoring services, and what factors influence cost.

Most services are scoped individually. This page is meant to give clear context around baseline rates, cost factors, and how estimates are provided before work is scheduled.

How Pricing Is Determined

Most services offered by Covington Aerials are scoped individually. Pricing reflects the time required, site conditions, access, imaging type, and deliverables. This page explains how pricing is structured, what affects cost, and how estimates are provided so expectations are clear before work begins.

Some services are billed hourly. Others are quoted as a flat project rate depending on the type of work and the level of preparation involved. Scope and expectations are discussed before any work is scheduled.

Baseline Rates

The following baseline rates apply to standard hourly work. These are reference points and do not mean every service is billed in a strictly hourly format.

Baseline Rate

Flight Time

$85 / hour

Used as a baseline for standard aerial work where hourly pricing makes the most sense.

Baseline Rate

Flight Training

$50 / hour

Applies to standard training sessions and instructional time, subject to scheduling and scope.

Minimums may apply depending on service type, location, and setup requirements. Some projects are better suited to flat-rate pricing once scope is defined.

Pricing by Service Type

The following outlines how pricing is generally approached by service category. These are not fixed prices and are intended to provide context only.

Animal Recovery

Game recovery and lost pet searches are assessed case by case. Pricing depends on location, timing, terrain, and expected duration of the search.

Roof Inspections

Pricing is influenced by roof size, complexity, imaging type, and documentation needs. Some inspections are billed hourly, while others are quoted as a project rate once scope is clear.

Thermal Inspections

Pricing depends on the conditions required for accurate results, site size, and whether thermal imaging is combined with visual documentation.

Utility and Infrastructure

Pricing reflects asset type, access limitations, area covered, and documentation requirements. These inspections are typically scoped individually due to variability.

Aerial Photography and Video

Pricing varies based on time on site, number of deliverables, editing requirements, and usage needs.

Training and Instruction

Flight training is billed at the standard hourly training rate and scheduled based on availability and instructional goals.

Factors That Affect Cost

  • Location and travel distance
  • Time sensitivity or urgency
  • Size of the area or property
  • Type of imaging required (visual, thermal, or both)
  • Time required on site
  • Deliverables requested
  • Weather and scheduling constraints

Understanding these factors upfront helps determine whether a service is a good fit before moving forward.

What Pricing Does Not Include

Licensed inspections or certifications

Engineering or structural analysis

Repair recommendations or enforcement

Guaranteed outcomes or findings

Services are focused on documentation, observation, and support for planning and evaluation.

Post-Processing and Deliverables

All services include professional review, basic editing, and clear deliverables appropriate to the service. Advanced or specialized post-processing is discussed upfront when required.
